Iowa State 5 Point Championship Rules
IOWA STATE 5 POINT CHAMPIONSHIP
The Iowa State Coon Hunters Association 5 Point Championship will consist of 5 qualifying events, one in each corner, and one in the central part of the state. These events will be hosted by local clubs on their current UKC event dates. For every entry at these events $5 will be given to the Iowa State Coon Hunters Association to hold in a account to be paid in awards with 100% pay back.
Cast winners with plus points or bench show BOS, Champion, Grand Champion Male and Female winners who are Iowa State Coon Hunters Association members before participation in the qualifying event will qualify for the Finals. The Finals will be a one day event with a $15 Entry Fee, this $15 will also be held and paid back 100% to the winners. All dogs in the finals will compete together with no regard to titles. The show will consist of a panel of three judges who will pick and place the top four dogs. The hunt will have a Licensed Master of Hounds. The dogs will compete, using UKC open registered rules. The top four high scoring cast winners will then have the option of hunting off to determine first through fourth place or splitting the prize money. All members of the final cast must agree not to hunt it off in order to split. Otherwise the top four will go back out to the woods for a 1 hour hunt off using UKC open registered rules with the exception that no dog can minus out. The final cast will have two non-hunting judges. If dogs are scratched they will be placed in the order they are scratched starting at 4th ascending to 1st.
Awards 100% Pay back: The $5 paid for each entry fee at the qualifying events and the $15 entry at the finals will be totaled and be paid back to the top four winners. An embroidered jacket will be given to 1st place in the show and 1st place in the hunt. The remainder of the entry fees will be paid out according to PKC Blue book. Show and Hunt entries will be kept separate and paid out accordingly.
Each event will have an Iowa State Coon Hunters Association representative to take memberships and answer questions before each event. These reps will be listening for ideas for 2010 and clubs interested in hosting events for 2010.
